Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-2942 |
Name | Anti-Snake venom metalloproteinase BaP1 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- MABaP1 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | neutralize, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Bothrops asper (Terciopelo), Bothrops neuwiedi |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody reacts with snake venom metalloproteinase (SVMP) BaP1 present in the venom of Bothrops asper. BaP1 is a P-I class of SVMP relevant in the local tissue damage associated with envenomations by Bothrops asper. This metalloproteinase exhibits a weak hemorrhagic activity and rapidly degrades the Aalpha-chain (FGA) of fibrinogen, and later on, degrades the Bbeta-chain (FGB) of fibrinogen. |
Alternative Name | BaP1; Hemorrhagic metalloproteinase BaP1; BnP1 |
UniProt | P83512 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizng BALB/c mice with 10 mg BaP1 obtained from B. asper venom emulsified in incomplete Marcol/Montanide adjuvant. |
Application Notes | The antibody can bind snake venom metalloproteinases BaP1, whole venom of B. asper and BnP1 (B. neuwiedi) in an ELISA. This antibody completely neutralized in vivo hemorrhage, muscle necrosis, and inflammation induced by the toxin. This antibody completely neutralize myotoxicity induced by BaP1. In general it was capable of neutralizing biological effects of this SVMP (PMID: 20674587; 20674587). |
