Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-1573 |
Name | Anti-Ferritin mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- AMB8LK |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | immunotherapy, IP, tumor imaging |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds human ferritin. This protein catalyzes the oxidation of ferrous iron(II) to ferric iron(III) and stores iron in a soluble, non-toxic, readily available form. Ferritin is important for iron homeostasis. |
Alternative Name | FTMT; FTL; FTH1; Ferritin mitochondrial; B8 |
UniProt | Q8N4E7 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing female Balb/c mice with ferritin extracted from human spleen cells. |
Application Notes | This antibody was capable of immunoprecipitating ferritin (PMID: 6817879). The original antibody binds human ferritin with a binding affinity of Kd= 5.1nM (EP2193147). The thiolated version of this antibody was conjugated to maleimide-activated polylactide nanoparticles (NPs) to generate immunonanoparticles, which may carry drugs to desired overexpressing antigen cells potentially leading to improved drug therapy and reduced systemic adverse effects (PMID: 19835957). Preclinical studies showed that the immunoconjugate with 90Y has 98% stability over 7 days. A very good pancreatic adenocarcinoma tumor targeting was observed especially with the Bz-DTPA-AMB8LK (PMID: 17383579) |
