Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for human epha3 receptor tyrosine kinase which binds promiscuously membrane-bound ephrin family ligands residing on adjacent cells, leading to contact-dependent bidirectional signaling into neighboring cells. The signaling pathway downstream of the receptor is referred to as forward signaling while the signaling pathway downstream of the ephrin ligand is referred to as reverse signaling. |
Alternative Name | Ephrin type-A receptor 3; EPH-like kinase 4; EK4; hEK4; HEK; Human embryo kinase; Tyrosine-protein kinase TYRO4; Tyrosine-protein kinase receptor ETK1; Eph-like tyrosine kinase 1 |
UniProt | P29320 |
Immunogen | This antibody was created by humanizing the IIIA4 antibody. The IIIA4 antibody was raised by immunizing mice with LK63 cells. |
Application Notes | This antibody has been shown to have a wide therapeutic potential. Human version of this antibody was shown to be safe for treatment of patients with refractory hematologic malignancies (Swords et al, 2016; pmid:27736729). Further, it has been shown that this antibody was cytotoxic to LK63 cell lines (Charmsaz et al, 2017; pmid:27922598). Besides this, the antibody was also shown to reduce multiple myeloma angiogenesis (Caivano et al, 2017; pmid:28415715). Fianlly, this antibody has been observed to reduice lung fibrosis is mice (WO2018053032). |
