Name | Anti-Apoptosis regulator BAX mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-BAX5-2 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | in vitro, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the active site of human BAX. |
Alternative Name | BAX; Bcl2-L-4; BCL2L4; Bcl-2-like protein 4 |
UniProt | Q07812 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by panning against a llama phage display library with recombinant BAX protein. |
Application Notes | The original antibody was used for an ELISA on BAX protein. This antibody was used for an in vitro experiment to test its ability to inhibit BAX. Here it was mixed with isolated mitochondria and the release of cytochrome c was measured. It showed strong inhibition of BAX (Gueorguieva et al., 2006; PMID:17060401). |
Antibody First Published | Gueorguieva et al. Identification of single-domain, Bax-specific intrabodies that confer resistance to mammalian cells against oxidative-stress-induced apoptosis FASEB J. 2006 Dec;20(14):2636-8. PMID:17060401 |
Note on publication | The original paper reports identification, cloning, and functional characterization of several Bax-specific single-domain antibodies (sdAbs) |
