Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-423 |
Name | Anti-Apo E mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- 1D7 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | RIA, SPR, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | Is specific for the human apolipoprotein E antigen, and appears to be sensitive to lysine modifications and binds very poorly to carbamylated Apo E. The epitope corresponds to the LDLr binding site on Apo E, and incorporation into lipid vesicles does not affect its immunoreactivity. |
Alternative Name | Human apolipoprotein E |
UniProt | P02649 |
Immunogen | BALB/c mice were used, were injected twice with 50 ug of purified apo E 1 week apart. |
Application Notes | The binding specificity of this antibody has been confirmed using a radioimmunoassay showing it to be specific to Apo E using a radioimmunoassay which is sensitive to carbamylation and methlyation (Milne et al, 1981). Surface plasmon resonance has been used to analyse the kinetics of the binding of 1D7 (Raffai et al, 1995). Sandwich assays have also been used to determine the epitope 1D7 binds to. |
Antibody First Published | Milne et al Characterization of Monoclonal Antibodies against Human Apolipoprotein E J Clin Invest. 1981 Jul;68(1):111-7. PMID:8558079 |
Note on publication | Describes the generation of a number of different antibodies against human lipoprotein E, most of which are insensitive to chemical changes to Apo E, but one of which (1D7) is sensitive to chemical changes. |
