Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-2791 |
Name | Anti-Rad51B mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- 1h3/13 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IP, WB |
Species Reactivity | Primate, Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific against Rad51B (does not cross-react with Rad51C, Rad51D, Rad51, XRCC2, or XRCC3 in Western analysis). Rad51B is a paralog of Rad51 which is an E. coli RecA homologue. It is invloved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway which fixes double-stranded breaks. |
Alternative Name | DNA repair protein RAD51 homolog 2; R51H2; RAD51 homolog B; RAD51- like protein 1; REC2; RAD51L1; 1 H3/13 |
UniProt | O15315 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised against His-tagged recombinant human Rad51B. |
Application Notes | WB: rad51b 1h3/13 (1H3) antibody was used to visualise Rad51B on Western blots in multiple experiments (e.g. after previous gel filtration of infected pf9 cells; after immunoprecipitation with different antibodies and others) in a study on the RAD51 paralogs' complexes and their role in genetic recombination (Masson et al., 2001). |

Note on publication | This article describes the earliest use of rad51b 1h3/13 (1H3) antibody to detect Rad51B protein via Western blotting. However, the exact process of generation of this antibody is described in the following paper (where similar antibodies were generated): Masson, J. Y., Stasiak, A. Z., Stasiak, A., Benson, F. E., & West, S. C. (2001). Complex formation by the human RAD51C and XRCC3 recombination repair proteins. Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 98(15), 8440-8446. |
