From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | WB, ELISA, FC, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Elephant |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for elephant Podoplanin (elePDPN). PDPN is an essential marker of lung type I alveolar cells, kidney podocytes, and lymphatic endothelial cells. |
Alternative Name | PDPN; elePDPN; Elephant PDPN; Elephant podoplanin |
UniProt | G3T5I4 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by immunizing BALB/c mice four times with three keyhole limpet hemocyanin-conjugated elePDPN peptides, including 38-EGGMVIPGVEDNMV-51, + C-terminal cysteine, followed by a final booster shot. |
Application Notes | This antibody recognized both elePDPN-overexpressing Chinese hamster ovary (CHO)-K1 cells and endogenous elePDPN-expressing LACF-NaNaI cells by flow cytometry (FC) and Western blotting (WB). Kinetic analyses using FC showed that this antibody's KD for CHO/elePDPN was 1.5 × 10-8 M. Furthermore, this antibody detected elePDPN-expressing cells using immunohistochemistry (IHC) (Kudo et al., 2022; PMID: 35917562). An ELISA with the alanine-substituted peptides of the elePDPN extracellular domain (amino acids 38–51) revealed that the binding epitope of this antibody includes Met41, Pro44, and Glu47 of elePDPN (Okada et al., 2022; PMID: 35917553). |

Note on publication | The original publication describes the development and characterization of a novel monoclonal antibody, PMab-295, that specifically recognizes elephant podoplanin (elePDPN). |
