Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds the B6R protein of the monkeypox virus. This antibody also cross reacts with B6R protein of vaccinia virus, variola virus and cowpox virus. Mpox is an infectious disease caused by the monkeypox virus which can be transmitted to humans through physical contact with someone who is infectious, with contaminated materials, or with infected animals. It can cause a painful rash or mucosal lesions which can last 2–4 weeks, enlarged lymph nodes and fever. Monkeypox mortality rates range from 0%-11% in the general population and are higher in young children. In Q3 of 2024, the WHO declared monkeypox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. This product serves as a powerful tool for related research efforts. |
Alternative Name | Mpox; MPXV; Monkeypox virus; Monkey pox virus; MONPV; B6R; MPXVgp167; EEV membrane glycoprotein |
UniProt | V9NQJ0 |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated from human PBMCs by isolating specific human memory B cells capable of binding Mpox B6R protein. |
Application Notes | This antibody is capable of recognizing B6R protein of monkeypox virus, vaccinia virus, variola virus and cowpox virus in an ELISA. In vitro, this antibody was capable of neutralizing VACV infection (CN117466994). |
