Specificity
The antibody binds specifically to chicken CD83, a membrane-bound glycoprotein belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily that is primarily expressed on mature dendritic cells (DCs). The antibody did not react with chicken CD80.

Immunogen
The original antibody was raised by immunizing BALB/c mice with purified chicken DC83 protein.
Application Notes
This antibody was used for detection of chicken CD83 expressed in CHO cells using flow cytometry. The antibody also reacted with HD11 cells by flow cytometry. The antibody recognized CD83 protein on Western blots of lysates from lipopolysaccharide-stimulated spleen mononuclear cells or unstimulated HD11 cells (Lee et al, 2012; pmid： 22197010).
