From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody recognises human CD68 antigen. CD68 is a membrane glycoprotein highly expressed in monocytes and macrophages. It is involved in phagocytosis, lysosomal metabolism and interactions with pathogens and other cells.

Immunogen
This antbody was raised by immunising mice with phytohaemagglutinin-activated peripheral blood mononuclear cells.
Application Notes
IP: Y-2/131/47 antibody was used for immunoprecipitation from the material from spleen membranes (Micklem et al., 1989). ICC: This antibody was also used in immunocytochemical staining of acute promyelocytic leukaemia cells in order to establish a characteristic phenotype of the diseased cells and develop a potential diagnostic tool of this disorder (Erber et al., 1994).
