Cat. No.
MABL-513
Application
inhibit, ELISA
Isotype
Engineer antibody
Species Reactivity
Escherichia coli
Clone No.
cAbTEM02
From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds an enzyme called beta-lactamase produced by bacteria, which catalysis the breaking of the beta-lactam ring of beta-lactam antibiotics such as penicillin, cephalosporin, cephamycin and monobactam through hydrolysis. The breaking of the beta-lactam ring deactivates the antibacterial properties of the antibiotic molecule and provides antibiotic resistance in bacteria.
Alternative Names
β-Lactamase; bla; Beta-lactamase TEM; IRT-4; Penicillinase; TEM-1 β- lactamase; cAb-TEM2
UniProt
P62593
Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing adult dromedary (Camelus dromedarius) with TEM-1 β-lactamase.
Application Notes
The binding reactivity of this antibody to TEM-1 beta-lactamase was determined using ELISA. This antibody was capable of inhibiting beta-lactamase activity in vitro with an IC50 of 0.035 μM (PMID: 11557473). This antibody binds TEM-1 (b-lactamase) with a binding affinity of 0.5 nM (PMID: 18262543).
