Specificity
This antibody is specific for the SSINEEITPRRQS epitope of BCR (residues 686-696), and as such is able to recognise full-length BCR and the p210 form of the BCR-ABL fusion protein. p210 BCR-ABL is a cytogenetic marker of chronic myelogenous leukaemia, resulting from gross chromosomal translocation resulting in the 'Philadelphia chromosome'. The fusion protein is a constitutively active tyrosine kinase, causing deregulated downstream signalling and increasing likelihood of oncogenic transformation.

Immunogen
Murine antibodies were produced by immunising BALB/c mice with residues 686-696 (SSINEEITPRRQS) of human BCR fused to thyroglobulin. Hybridomas were generated by fusion of immunised cells with the myeloma cell line P3X63Ag8 via established methods.
Application Notes
It has been shown by Western blot that 7c6 binds wildtype, full-length BCR and the p210 BCR-ABL fusion protein.
