Application | IF |
Species Reactivity | |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | Jel 466 binds to triple-stranded DNA. The preferred interacting partner is the triplex form of poly[d(TC)]. poly[d(GA)] and there is also good binding to poly[d(TTC)].poly[d(GAA)]. Theantibody binds weakly to the triplex derived from poly[d(G)].poly[d(C)] and no binding is observed with poly[d(T)].poly[d(A)1.poly[d(T)]. Jel 466 does not bind to poly[d(TC)].poly[d(Gm6A)], single-stranded DNAs, calf thymus DNA, or to poly[d(TG)].poly[d(CA)] which are unable to form a triplex structure. Triplex DNA has been known to form in vitro from synthetic pyrimidine-pruine tracts and it is also thought to potentially have a biological function in cells. |
Alternative Name | triple helix DNA; Jel-466; Jel466 |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | Jel 466 was prepared by immunizing mice with poly[d(Tm5C)].poly[d(GA)]. |
Application Notes | Jel 466 can be used to detect triplex DNA in cells by IF. |
