Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-146 |
Name | Anti-Pan-Nav1 Na+ channel mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-N419/78 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | ICC, IHC, WB |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds to most Nav1 channels. Nav1 channels mediate the voltage-dependent sodium ion permeability of excitable membranes. |
Alternative Name | N419/78R; Sodium channel protein type 1 subunit alpha; Sodium channel protein brain I subunit alpha; Sodium channel protein type I subunit alpha; Voltage-gated sodium channel subunit alpha Nav1.1; SCN1A |
UniProt | P35498 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a synthetic peptide amino acids 1501-1518 (TEEQKKYYNAMKKLGSKK, cytoplasmic loop between repeat III and IV) of human Nav1.1. |
Application Notes | This antibody is recommended for detection and analysis of Nav1 Na+ channel by immunocytochemistry, immunohistochemistry and western blot. For instance, the mouse version of this antibody was used to detect nav1 Na+ channel by western blot in fractions of adult rat brain membranes and extracts of COS or HEK cells transiently or stably expressing different untagged Nav1.X or Kv2.1 plasmid. |
Antibody First Published | Andrews et al. A toolbox of IgG subclass-switched recombinant monoclonal antibodies for enhanced multiplex immunolabeling of brain eLife. 2019; 8: e43322. PMID:30667360 |
Note on publication | This article describes the generation of a library of recombinant monoclonal antibodies (R-mAbs) from a pool of mAb-producing hybridomas for neuroscience research. |
