Immunogen

The original antibody was raised against residues 18–22 of amyloid beta.

Application Notes

The specificity of the original, Fab and   scFv formats of the antibody was confirmed by ELISA analysis (Tammer et al.,   2002; PMID: 12197886, Nisbet et al., 2013; PMID: 23766374). The original format of the antibody is extensively used for immunohistochemistry for detection of Aβ plaques. The original format and the Fab fragment bound to   Ab[1–40/42/43] peptides by western blot analysis. The Fab format of the antibody shown to bind plaques within sections of human AD brain tissue by immunohistochemistry (Tammer et al., 2002; PMID:12197886). The scFv format of the antibody bound to the central region of Amyloid beta with an affinity of ∼55 nM and significantly reduced fibril formation of Amyloid beta 1–42.
