Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-2898 |
Name | Anti-Shiga toxin 1 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- 5-5B |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | Neutralisation, WB, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Escherichia coli |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the Stx1 B subunit, and does not recognise Stx2 |
Alternative Name | Stx1; stx1B |
UniProt | Q8X4M7 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising mice with Stx1 toxoid. |
Application Notes | This antibody has been shown to bind the B subunit of Stx1 in Western blot analysis (Nakao et al, 2002). This antibody is able to neutralise Stx1 cytotoxicity (Nakao, 2002). Flow cytometric experiments have revealed that this antibody binds to free Stx1 B subunits, not cell-bound Stx1, and inhibits Stx1 binding to its receptor on target cells (Nakao et al, 2002). A Fab derived from this antibody also specifically binds Stx1, as determined by ELISA, and neutralises Stx1 cytotoxicity (Inoue et al, 2004). |
