Immunogen | The original mouse IgG1 version of this antibody was raised by immunizing BALB/c mice with a mammalian blood immunogen. |
Application Notes | This antibody is recommended for the identification of hemoglobin and, more generally, blood in various samples and products, such as commercial meat products. It was used in the development of a successful ELISA-based assay for the quantification of hemoglobin (PHb) in meat products. It had a very wide working range from 0.5 ppm to 1000 pp, high sensitivity and precision (Jiang et al., 2018; pmid: 29412908). Testing by Western blot demonstrated that 13F7 is able to detect a hemoglobin monomer (mass: 14 Da) in blood samples of different mammals (Jiang et al., 2018; pmid: 29412908). Consequently, one of the potential areas where this antibody will be particularly useful is the food industry and food control against adulteration with meat products. |
