Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-1784 |
Name | Anti-HCV envelope glycoprotein E2 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- AR3A |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | immunotherapy, IP, neutralize, ELISA |
Species Reactivity | Hepatitis C virus |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the HCV E2 gylcoprotein. This antibody can recognize soluble E2 and native folded E2 glycoprotein but not reduced or denatured protein. |
Alternative Name | E2; Genome polyprotein; Envelope glycoprotein E2; NS1; gp68; gp70 |
UniProt | P27958 |
Immunogen | The originala antibody was isolated from a phage-display library generated from a donor chronically infected with HCV. |
Application Notes | This broadly neutralizing anitbody binds the AR3 antigenic regions of the HCV envelope glycoprotein and is capable of neutralizing JFH-1, H77, H, OH8, UKN1 B12.16, J6, UKN2 A1.2, UKN2 B1.1, UKN4. 21.16, UKN5. 15.7 strains of HCV (PMID: 18064037, 22492964). The IgG1 version of AR3A inhibited the binding of E1-E2 complex to the virus co-receptor CD81 at nanomolar concentration suggesting that this antibody can block HCV interaction with CD81 and thereby inhibit infection. The binding specificity of this antibody for E2 glycoprotein was determined using ELISA. AR3A provided protective immunity in two out of five mice receiving the antibody. This (PMID:18064037). This antibody was used for the immunoprecipitation of E2 glycoprotien cell lysates (PMID: 18355410). |
