Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with Venezuelan equine encephalitis (VEE) virus replicons encoding the Ebola glycoprotein from the Mayinga isolate of the Zaire strain of Ebola virus. |
Application Notes | The specificity of the original version of this antibody (mouse IgG2a) was validated via ELISA, IF, RIPA, and WB. In in vitro plaque reduction assays, this antibody achieved 80% plaque reduction at a concentration as low as 6.25 µg/ml. In in vivo experiments with mice and guinea pigs, 6D8 demonstrated protective effects when administered before or shortly after viral exposure (Wilson et al., 2000; PMID: 10698744) (US6875433B2). |
