Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing a mouse with cytokeratins from a Human lung cancer cell line (MR21). |
Application Notes | The antibody recognized keratins 5 and 8, and as a result stained virtually all epithelial tissues. This antibody was used for immunohistochemistry on classic SCLC as well as the adenocarcinoma cell lines (Broers et al., 1986; PMID: 2433295). Further, endocervical columnar cells, cervical immature squamous metaplasia, cervical CIN I, CIN II and CIN III reacted with the antibody in immunohistochemistry (Smedts et al., 1990; PMID: 1690513). The antibody detected keratins 5 and 8 by western blot analysis on T 24, HeLa and KB cells (Ramaekers et al., 1987; PMID: 2436934). |
