UniProt | P28907 |
Immunogen | The C-terminal domain of human CD38 (residue 45–300) was expressed and produced in a yeast expression system. The purified recombinant protein was used as an antigen to immunize llamas. Phage display technology was used to obtain positive clones against CD38. |
Application Notes | The nanobody MU1053 has been crystallised with CD38, and has been used to target molecules to CD38. Tagging the nanobody with fluorescent proteins allows the quantification of CD38 expression by flow cytometry, which can be used to identify malignant multiple myeloma cells, which have higher CD38 expression. Further, a form of MU1053 conjugated to a toxin has been developed as a potential therapeutic agent to selectively kill CD38+ cells. |
