This antibody is specific for human CD63. CD63 mediates signal transduction events that play a role in the regulation of cell development, activation, growth, and motility. CD63 is mainly associated with membranes of intracellular vesicles, although cell surface expression may be induced. CD63 a member of the transmembrane 4 superfamily, also known as the tetraspanin family.
