Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by using a NCI-H82 cell preparation as an immunogen.
Application Notes
The original antibody stained CD56 in NCI-H82 cells (Broers et al., 1991; PMID: 1845952). The antibody was reactive with SCLC, lung carcinoids, renal cancers, and some sarcomas. The antibody was reactive in normal neuronal tissues, and endocrine glands, such as pancreatic islet cells, pituitary gland, and adrenal medulla. The antibody reacted positively in the immunofluorescence assay with the NCAM-transfected 3T3 cells (Boerman et al., 1991; PMID: 1645701). The antibody was used to detect CD56 on SCLC cell lines by immunohistochemistry (Borghtet al., 2018; PMID: 30050775).
