From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds to rat SIRP alpha, which is selectively expressed by myeloid and neuronal cells.
Alternative Names
SIRPA; BIT; MFR; MYD-1; MYD1; P84; PTPNS1; SHPS1; SIRP; Signal- regulatory protein alpha; signal regulatory protein alpha; OX41; MRC OX-41; MRC OX 41
UniProt

Immunogen
Rat resident peritoneal cells injected into BALB/c mice.
Application Notes
This antibody binds to SIRP alpha, and can consequently be used to label neuronal cells and myeloid cells, namely macrophages, monocytes, granulocutes and dendritic cells, in immunofluorescence and immunohistochemical studies (Robinson, 1986). Anti-SIRP ligation induces nitric oxide synthesis and oxidative burst in macrophages (Adams, 1998).
