The original antibody was raised by panning against a llama phage display library.
Application Notes
The original antibody was used for a western blot against recombinant Caspase 3. This antibody was expressed in SHSY-5Y and the effect of the antibodies on apoptosis in presence of H2O2. It showed that it indeed decreased apoptosis under oxidative stress (McGonigal et al., 2009; PMID:18553063).

In the original paper two V(H)Hs specific to Caspase 3 (VhhCasp31 and VhhCasp32) were isolated from a heavy chain antibody variable domain (V(H)H) phage display library and tested for their apoptosis-modulating effects.
