Specificity
This antibody is specific for autotaxin, a secreted lysophospholipase D. In mammals, the enzyme produces phospholipid lysophosphatidic acid (LPA) from lysophosphatidylcholine (LPC).

The original antibody was generated by panning a de novo human Fab-pIX library against biotinylated human ATX beta.
Application Notes
The specificity of the original antibody (human Fab) was evaluated via an ELISA, with a binding affinity (KD) of 0.329 nM as measured by SPR. This antibody can be used as part of an antibody pair with Ab04780 [ATXB3] since they exhibit simultaneous binding to ATX. This antibody can neutralize ATX as assessed via FS-3 (Fluorescent Substrate) and LPC Hydrolysis assays (US20150087812A1).
