Specificity
The antibody is specific for ALCAM. ALCAM (Activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule)” is transmembrane protein, which has a molecular weight of 100 to 105 kDa and is composed of five extracellular Ig-like domains and the intracellular terminus having 32 amino acid, and short transmembrane region. It is an immunoglobulin superfamily molecule including ten N-bonding type sugar chain added sites. ALCAM is one of the adhesive molecules, is present on the activated leukocyte and is identified as a ligand molecule to CD6 molecule (which functions as a signal receptor in T cells). ALCAM also functions as an adhesion factor in homophylic (ALCAM-ALCAM) or heterophylic (ALCAM-CD6) interaction.

Immunogen
The original antibody was isolated by panning a phage display library against ALCAM.
Application Notes
The antibody exhibited ADCC activity on cancer cells expressing ALCAM, such as CW2 and NCI-H441 cells. The IgG1 format of the antibody could detect ALCAM in different cancer lines (040520IT, CHOK1SV,HepG2, HLF, Caki-1, CCFRC1, ACHN, 293T, PC14, SKOv3, BT474) by FACS (US9388249B2).
