Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-134 |
Name | Anti-VGlut3 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD-N34/34.2 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | ICC, WB, IF |
Species Reactivity | Rat, Torpedo californica, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for Vglut3. Vglut3 mediates the uptake of glutamate into synaptic vesicles at presynaptic nerve terminals of excitatory neural cells. May also mediate the transport of inorganic phosphate. |
Alternative Name | N34/34.2R; N34/34; Vesicular glutamate transporter 3; Slc17a8; Solute carrier family 17 member 8 |
UniProt | Q7TSF2 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with a fusion protein amino acids 546- 588 (cytoplasmic C-terminus) of rat VGlut3. |
Application Notes | The IgG1 version of this antibody has been used for immunocytochemistry on a peptide corresponding to the antigen (Fyk-Kolodziej et al, 2011; PMID: 21211553). The IgG1 version of this antibody has been used for western blotting on the DCN and VCN of deaf mice (Fyk-Kolodziej et al, 2011; PMID: 21211553). Immunofluorescense on PVCN of rats has been preformed by using the IgG1 verion of this antibody (Fyk-Kolodziej et al, 2011; PMID: 21211553). The IgG1 version of this antibody was used to preform western blot and immunofluorescense on the electroplaque of Torpedo californica (Li and Harlow, 2014; PMID:24744885). |
Antibody First Published | Andrews et al. A toolbox of IgG subclass-switched recombinant monoclonal antibodies for enhanced multiplex immunolabeling of brain eLife. 2019; 8: e43322. PMID:30667360 |
Note on publication | This article describes the generation of a library of recombinant monoclonal antibodies (R-mAbs) from a pool of mAb-producing hybridomas for neuroscience research. |
