Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody binds human Interleukin-1 beta, which is a potent pro-inflammatory cytokine. Initially discovered as the major endogenous pyrogen, induces prostaglandin synthesis, neutrophil influx and activation, T-cell activation and cytokine production, B-cell activation and antibody production, and fibroblast proliferation and collagen production. It promotes Th17 differentiation of T-cells and synergizes with IL12/interleukin-12 to induce IFNG synthesis from T-helper 1 (Th1) cells. It also plays a role in angiogenesis by inducing VEGF production synergistically with TNF and IL6.
Alternative Names

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing New Zealand white rabbits with recombinant human IL-1B protein.
Application Notes
This antibody can be used for detection of IL-1B using ELISA. A combination of 10A10 and 1F3 was used for the detection of IL-1B in a double antibody sandwich assay, where 10A10 was used as a capture antibody and 1F3 was used as detection antibody (CN115772220).
