This antibody is specific for the extracellular membrane-proximal domain (EMPD) of murine membrane-bound IgE. As this 19-amino acid long EMPD is isotype-specific, this antibody does not cross- react with soluble mouse IgE.

Application Notes
This antibody binds to the extracellular membrane-proximal domain (EMPD) of mouse membrane-bound IgE with high specificity and affinity, as confirmed in ELISA analysis and FC analysis (Feichtner et al, 2008). In mice immunised with recombinant Bet v1a, the major birch pollen allergen, subsequent passive immunization with this antibody leads to a block of newly synthesized specific IgEs, and reduces serum Bet v1a-specific IgE titers (Feichtner et al, 2008). In vitro, this antibody induces receptor-mediated apoptosis in B cells expressing membrane-bound IgE (Feichtner et al, 2008).
