Specificity
This antibody reacts with amino acids 285-298aa (RDYPVVSIEDPFDQ) of human NSE protein. Neuron specific enolase has neurotrophic and neuroprotective properties on a broad spectrum of central nervous system (CNS) neurons. It is also reported to bind cultured neocortical neurons in a calcium dependent manner and promotes cell survival.

Application Notes
The antibody binds specifically to OA3, a cell surface glycoprotein tumour-associated antigen with a multi membrane spanning structure. The antigen is expressed by the major histological types of ovarian carcinoma, and antibodies directed against the antigen can be used for both the diagnosis and treatment of primary and metastatic ovarian carcinomas.
