Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by immunizing a BALB/c mouse with keratin-enriched preparations from cultured A431 cells. |
Application Notes | The original version of this antibody was used for immunocytochemistry on endometrial tissue from whole uteri of regularly cycling women (Ciocca et al., 1983; PMID: 6348061). This antibody was also used for immunohistochemistry on CIS from a DMBA-treated rat (Heffelfinger et al., 2003; PMID: 12861040), on histological sections of CIS from untreated and 6-week ZD6474 cohorts (Heffelfinger et al., 2004; PMID: 15170218), on mouse thymus (Song et al., 2008; PMID: 18824586), and on fresh samples from either tumors or normal tissues distant from tumors (Bártek et al., 1991; PMID: 1716305). This antibody was also used for immunofluorescence on Skin pieces of juvenile goldfish (Mauger et al., 2009; PMID: 19068235). This antibody was used in a western blot on mouse intestine lysates (Rhee et al., 2009; PMID: 19188353), on K562 and MDAMB231 cell lines (Kershaw et al., 2015; PMID: 25957999), and on filament-enriched preparations using this antibody (Bártek et al., 1991; PMID: 1716305). |
Antibody First Published | Bártek et al. A series of 14 new monoclonal antibodies to keratins: characterization and value in diagnostic histopathology J Pathol. 1991 Jul;164(3):215-24. PMID:1716305 |
Note on publication | The original paper describes a series of 14 new mouse monoclonal antibodies (MAbs) to keratins, suggesting their potential value in the differential diagnosis of human tumors. |
