Cat. No. | MABL-2425 |
Name | Anti-MuSK mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- MuSK #13 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | in vitro, in vivo |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for human MuSK. |
Alternative Name | Muscle-specific kinase receptor; Muscle, skeletal receptor tyrosine- protein kinase; Muscle-specific tyrosine-protein kinase receptor |
UniProt | O15146 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing mice with human MuSK. |
Application Notes | The original antibody was used in vitro to test if it could activate its target. It showed to be a potent MuSK activator. The antibody was also tested in vivo on mice. Here is was shown to localize to the neuromuscular junctions here it increased innervation. This antibody did not show any delay in onset of ALS symptoms (Sengupta-Ghosh et al., 2019; PMID: 30528255). |
Antibody First Published | Sengupta-Ghosh et al. Muscle specific kinase (MuSK) activation preserves neuromuscular junctions in the diaphragm but is not sufficient to provide a functional benefit in the SOD1G93A mouse model of ALS Neurobiol Dis. 2019 Apr:124:340-352. PMID:30528255 |
Note on publication | In the original paper they treated the SOD1G93A mouse model of ALS with an agonist antibody to muscle specific kinase (MuSK), a receptor tyrosine kinase required for the formation and maintenance of the neuromuscular junction. |
