Key features and details | |
Cat. No. | MABL-2392 |
Name | Anti-Mouse Nidogen/enactin mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- JF3 (4H5-B2-E4) |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | SPR, ELISA, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Human, Mouse |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antribody is specific for the G2 domain of nidogen-1. It binds in such a way that it is able to stop the binding of nidogen to laminin. Nidogen-1 is a sulfated glycoprotein widely distributed in basement membranes and tightly associated with laminin. Also binds to collagen IV and perlecan. It probably has a role in cell-extracellular matrix interactions. |
Alternative Name | Nidogen-1; Nid1; Entactin; NID-1 |
UniProt | P10493 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunizing a rat with G1/link region of mouse nidogen that is able to block its binding to laminin. |
Application Notes | The binding of the mouse version of this antibody to nidogen-1 was proven by ELISA. Further, high binding affinity of the mouse version of this antibody to nidogen-1 was demonstrated using surface plasmon resonance (Ries et al, 2001; pmid:11589703). Frozen sections of fetal, newborn, and 4- week-old mice were stained using the mouse version of this antibody to use for immunohistochemistry. This was performed while researching Collagen XXVIII (Veit et al, 2006; pmid:16330543). Frozen and paraffin- embedded sections of fetal, newborn, 3-week-old, and adult mice were stained using the mouse version of this antibody to use for immunohistochemistry. This assay was preformed while researching a protein called AMACO (Sengle et al, 2003; pmid:14506275). The mouse version of this antibody was used to stain whole mouse embryos or dissected organs from mice for immunohistochemistry. The staining allowed for the immunolocalization of nidogen-1 (Kostka et al, 2001; pmid:11564885). |

Note on publication | Recombinant proteins were produced of different predicted nidogen-1 domains in mammalian cells and used these proteins for crystallographic and binding epitope analyses. |
