Alternative Name | Skeletal Troponin I; Troponin I; skeletal Troponin C; sTnC |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing BALB/c mice with heat-treated TnI in Freund's complete adjuvant, followed by two booster injections with TnI in Freund's incomplete adjuvant. |
Application Notes | This antibody was originally reported to react with equine (horse) Troponin I (TnI) as determined by ELISA (US7297500B2). Later, it was shown through WB to bind mammalian skeletal TNI (sTnI), specifically bovine (cow) and porcine (pig), where it was shown to be immunoreactive to both sTnI and skeletal Troponin C (sTnC). However, sTnC was not detected by this antibody following extraction using urea and βME supplemented extraction buffer, indicating that their addition leads to the destruction of the antibody's epitope on sTnC. In a sandwich ELISA, it was determined that this antibody detects heated bovine, cervine (deer), equine, ovine (sheep), and porcine samples (Jiang et al., 2020; DOI: 10.1016/j.foodcont.2019.107045). |
