Application | functional assay, ELISA, FC |
Species Reactivity | Mycobacterium bovis, Mycobacterium tuberculosis |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for the LAM protein of Mycobacterium tuberculosis but shows cross- reactivity with other Mycobacterium species like M. bovis. M. tuberculosis causes the disease tuberculosis. |
Alternative Name | Lipoarabinomannan; Mycobacterium cell wall polysaccharide |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | This antibody was generated by immunizing a rabbit with Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37Rv cell wall. |
Application Notes | The ability of the rabbit version of this antibody to bind LAM was determined using ELISA on LAM. Furthermore, the affinity of this antibody to LAM was determined using a ForteBio Octe machine. Finally, the ability of this antibody to distinguish isolates of M. tuberculosis (MTB), M. avium- intracellulare (MAI), M. abscessus, and M. fortuitum-abscessus (MA-MF) was assessed using flow cytometry; it bound all bacteria (Yan et al., 2021; PMID: 32146163). This antibody was used as a capture antibody in a sandwich ELISA (Yan et al., 2023; PMID: 37764103). |

Note on publication | Novel rabbit monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against LAM for immunodetection purposes were developed. |
