Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing a Lewis rat with soluble recombinant mouse IFN-γ. |
Application Notes | The original antibody (rat IgG1, κ) was effective in both ELISA and two blocking bioassays (Cherwinski et al., 1987; PMID: 2960769). This antibody was used successfully in flow cytometry (Sander et al., 1993; PMID: 8288874). This antibody was used in vivo to block and neutralize IFN-γ (Suzuki and Joh, 1994; PMID: 8202451) (Beatty and Paterson, 2001; PMID: 11160282). |
Antibody First Published | Cherwinski et al. Two types of mouse helper T cell clone. III. Further differences in lymphokine synthesis between Th1 and Th2 clones revealed by RNA hybridization, functionally monospecific bioassays, and monoclonal antibodies. J Exp Med. 1987 Nov 1;166(5):1229-44. doi: 10.1084/jem.166.5.1229 PMID:2960769 |
Note on publication | The original publication explores the lymphokine synthesis patterns of T cell clones, distinguishing between two types (Th1 and Th2) based on mRNA hybridization, revealing differences in the production of specific cytokines and providing insights into the functional specificity of these clones using monoclonal antibodies and bioassays. |
