Immunogen | The original antibody was raised by immunizing a BALB/c mouse with D1.1 cells. |
Application Notes | The original version of this antibody was used to catalyse disfavoured endo-tet cyclization reactions of trans-epoxy alcohols (Gruber et al., 1999; PMID:10353817). The structure of the fab version of the antibody was determined using x-ray crystallography (Gruber et al., 1999; PMID:10353817, Karpusas et al., 2001; PMID:11525169). The original antibody was used for flow cytometry on D1.1 cells. It only showed binding to D1.1 cells but not to B2.7 cells. This antibody was used for immunoprecipitation on Jurkat cell lysates and precipitated a 30kDa protein. This antibody also shows the ability to inhibit D1.1 cell induced B cell activation (Lederman et al., 1992; PMID:1348081). The half life of this antibody in cynomolgus monkeys was measured. |
Antibody First Published | Lederman et al. Identification of a novel surface protein on activated CD4+ T cells that induces contact-dependent B cell differentiation (help) J Exp Med. 1992 Apr 1;175(4):1091-101. PMID:1348081 |
Note on publication | To identify T cell surface molecules that mediate contact-dependent T helper function, the original paper generated a monoclonal antibody (mAb), designated 5c8, that inhibits D1.1- mediated B cell activation and immunoprecipitates a novel 30-kD protein structure from surface-iodinated D1.1 cells. |
