From
Recombinant Antibody
Specificity
This antibody is specific for the pointed end of actin filaments (Brawley et al, 2010; pmid: 21103060). Actin is a highly conserved protein that polymerizes to produce filaments that form cross-linked networks in the cytoplasm of cells (PubMed: 21103060). Actin is a highly conserved protein that polymerizes to produce filaments that form cross-linked networks in the cytoplasm of cells (PubMed: 29581253). Actin exists in both monomeric (G-actin) and polymeric (F-actin) forms, both forms playing key functions, such as cell motility and contraction.
Alternative Names
Actin, cytoplasmic 1; Fab 19; Fab19; Fab 19, actin; Actin, cytoplasmic 1; ACTB; Beta-actin
UniProt
P60709
Immunogen
The original Fab version of this antibody was obtained by recombinant antibody phage display.
Application Notes
Immunofluorescence was done with this antibody on actin filaments. In this experiment the antibodies bound to the pointed end of actin (Brawley et al, 2010; pmid: 21103060). ELISA was also preformed with this antibody on actin filaments. This was to confirm the binding of the antibody to actin filaments (Brawley et al, 2010; pmid: 21103060).
