Application Notes
The antibody binds specifically to 11-Deoxycortisol, a glucocorticoid steroid hormone which can be oxygenated to cortisol. The monoclonal antibody recognises the functional groups at C-11 and C-21 in the steroid portion of 11-deoxycortisol, and can be useful in determining plasma levels of deoxycortisol in the metyrapone test in the diagnosis of Cushing's syndrome and adrenal insufficiency.
