Immunogen | This antibody was generated by phage display, during which phage were added to immunotubes coated in the MUC18 antigenic peptide. TG-1 bacteria were then infected by the phage before four rounds of panning were performed to select scFvs with high affinity and specificity for the MUC18 epitope. |
Application Notes | The specificity and cell surface binding ability of this scFv has been confirmed in ELISA, WB and FC analysis (Mohammadi et al, 2017). This scFv recognises cell surface receptor MUC18, expression of which is altered on epithelial tumors, playing an important role in metastasis. In in vitro assays, this scFv significantly inhibits the migration and invasion of an MUC18-expressing cell line (Mohammadi et al, 2017), and has the potential to be employed in breast cancer immunotherapy. |
