Specificity
This antibody is specific against an epitope located on the alpha-chain of S100. S100 is a protein antigen present at certain cell types and useful in anatomy and pathology. It is capable of binding calcium and is similar to calmodulin but its exact function is unclear.

Immunogen
The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with a 13 -amino acid portion of S100B corresponding to the hinge (linker) region of polypeptide (ELSHFLEEIKEQE) conjugated to KLH.
Application Notes
This antibody was used for single point ELISA on the S100B protein. This antibody was used to halt primary melanoma tumor growth in an immune competent mouse model (WO2016149116).
