Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody is specific for Dombrock b, a blood group antigen carried by ART4. Haemagglutination studies have shown this antibody to react with RBCs from non-human primates, including chimpanzee and orangutan (Mogos et al, 2003). |
Alternative Name | CD297; Dob; Dombrock glycoprotein; Dombrock (b); 15D6; ADP- ribosyltransferase 4; Ecto-ADP-ribosyltransferase 4; ART4; ARTC4; DO; DO/ART4; DOK1 |
UniProt | Q93070 |
Immunogen | This antibody was raised by immunising BALB/c mice with human embryonic kidney 293T cells transfected to express high levels of Dombrock b. |
Application Notes | The specificity of this antibody has been confirmed in haemagglutination studies, where it reacts with Do(a-b+) and Do(a+b+) RBCs, but not with Do(a+b-) RBCs (Grodecka et al, 2012). The epitope recognised by this antibody is resistant to treatment with papain, alpha-chymotrypsin and neuraminidase, and sensitive to treatment with trypsin and DTT (Grodecka et al, 2012). This antibody has been used, as part of a panel of antibodies specific for different epitopes on the Dombrock glycoprotein, in flow cytometric and haemagglutination analysis of human red blood cells (Mayer et al, 2010; Costa et al, 2010). |
