Alternative Name | GD2 |
UniProt | |
Immunogen | The original antibody was generated by immunizing mice with ganglioside G.sub.D2..sup.9. |
Application Notes | This antibody is recommended to be used in the detection of GD2 positive tumor cells in the marrow specimens using immunofluorescence staining (PMID: 15136638). It is also recommended for staining of neuroblastoma cells and analysing them using flow cytometry (PMID: 2526848). The anti-GD2 scFv 5F11 recombinantly fused to streptavidin (5F11-scFv-SA) formed a homo-tetramer and showed high GD2 binding. 5F11-scFv-SA allowed inhibition of the binding of anti-5F11 antiidiotypic antibody 1G8 to 5F11 in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (PMID: 15136638). Diphtheria toxins fused to scFv 5F11 demonstrated specific killing of GD2+ tumor cells independent of host immune function (PMID: 11877684). This antibody was also used for the development of bispecific antibody (5F11-scBA) to target disialoganglioside (GD2) positive tumors (PMID: 27471647). |
Antibody First Published | Cheung et al. Single-chain Fv-streptavidin substantially improved therapeutic index in multistep targeting directed at disialoganglioside GD2. J Nucl Med. (2004); 45(5):867-77. PMID: 15136638 |
Note on publication | Describes the use of a homotetramer 5F11-scFv-streptavidin in multistep targeting towards disialoganglioside GD2 to improve the therapeutic index of antibody based targeting. |
