Name | Anti-CD86 mAbs |
Clone No. | AFD- BU63 |
From | Recombinant Antibody |
Isotype | Engineer antibody |
Application | IP, WB, FC, IHC |
Species Reactivity | Human |
Basic Information | |
Specificity | This antibody binds CD86, which binds CD28 on the surface of T cells and is responsible for their activation during an adaptive immune response. |
Alternative Name | B7.2; T lymphocyte activation antigen CD86; Activation B7-2 antigen; B72; B7-2; CTLA-4 counter-receptor B7.2 |
UniProt | P42081 |
Immunogen | The antibody was raised by immunising mice using the ARH-77 human B-lymphoblastoid cell line. Antibody BU63 was validated to recognise CD86. |
Application Notes | |
Antibody First Published | Engel et al. The B7-2 (B70) Costimulatory Molecule Expressed by Monocytes and Activated B Lymphocytes Is the CD86 Differentiation Antigen Blood, Vol 84, No 5 (September l), 1994: pp 1402-1407 PMID:7520767 |
Note on publication | Showed that CD86 and B2-7 protein are the same molecule. BU63 was used to validate this by showing binding to CD86. These authors did not produce BU63 for their experiments, it was provided by Dr D. L. Hardie at the Fifth International Workshop on Human Leukocyte Differentiation. |
